 #Ships compliant with the #SOLAS shall have a Public Address system minimizing the effect of a single failure.

This is addressed with the following techniques :

  • Having at least two loops of loudspeakers (often called Loop A and Loop B) which should be sufficiently separated throughout their length and have two separate and independent amplifiers
  • Each loudspeaker should be individually protected against short circuits
  • Each cabinet (Loop A and Loop B) should operate on two sources of electrical power (main and emergency)
Themys partners with Zenitel (Exigo system) and Bosch Security and Safety Systems (Praesensa system) to design, integrate and setup SOLAS compliant PA systems.
