Tron 60AIS is a fully COSPAS-SARSART approval AIS EPIRB compliant with the new SOLAS regulation MSC. 471(101).
The key changes are:
- Adding an Infra-Red (Night-Vision) optical signal
- Adding AIS (SART like) localizers signal
- Revision of Homing/AIS/GNSS/ parameters to latest EPIRB technical standards; IEC 61097-ED4 and latest C/S T.001, T.007 of June 2021.

Tron 60AIS is a second generation EPIRB prepared for RLS (Return Link Service) through Galileo GNSS.
It is able to receive a re-assurance signal back to the beacon, indicating the distress signal has been received and that the user’s location is known by the professional rescue services. RLS allows distress beacons a two-way communication for the first time.
